Starting out with makeup

Starting out with makeup

So you've decided to get into makeup, great! Now what? Don't worry I'm  about to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know from buying the makeup to the organization of it.

OK so when you are buying the first few products, don't splurge all your money at the one time buying fancy eyeliners and high end makeup. Yes high end makeup is good and you see them all the time on social media, but just take it one step at a time, you will have plenty of time for that later but for now, stay on a budget, set a price limit for yourself, for example if I give myself a budget of £25, that can buy me all the basic things I need including foundation, concealer, eye shadow and mascara. Places like Superdrug and Boots are amazing to go to as they always have great sales and offers on all the time.

Now you have all of your makeup, you need brushes. Brushes is a difficult one because it's easy getting caught up in all the different kinds of brushes and what they are supposed to be used for. With the amount of makeup you now own, you only really need between 3-5 brushes depending on personal preference and the amount of makeup you have, this being a foundation brush and eye shadow brushes, the rest you don't really need brushes for, at the minute anyway. When buying brushes you may want to spend a little bit more money for better quality brushes that will last you a lot longer. A brand I would highly recommend is Real Techniques as their brushes are amazing quality and last for ages, I bought some of my Real Techniques brushes back two years ago and I haven't experienced any sign of the bristles falling out or wearing away. You can buy sets that include multiple brushes for the one thing like a set of 5 different eye brushes for £22, It does't just have to be real techniques though, there are other brands out there that could be just as good, it just takes a look around at all your options before you decide what to buy.

Now that your shopping trip is over, you need a place to keep all of your new makeup and brushes. I wouldn't go out and buy anything just yet as you have probably spent enough already. when storing your makeup try not to have it in a damp room like a bathroom or in direct sunlight like beside a window. The best place for your makeup is in a cool dark place like drawers or boxes. if you don't have either of those things a makeup bag would work fine or even an old shoe box.

That is what I think is best when starting to get into makeup, feel free to comment on your experiences, thoughts and opinions with starting out with makeup.
